BeyeNETWORK Vision Award for Business Impact

The BeyeNETWORK (Business Intelligence Network) introduces a new award to recognize excellence in business intelligence software deployments that positively impact an organization by providing business value or transformative change.

In keeping with our mission to provide a "global vision for business intelligence and beyond," the BeyeNETWORK is pleased to introduce the 2008 Vision Award for Business Impact. This award will recognize the efforts of successful companies who have used business intelligence software and technology to positively impact their organizations. The current competitive landscape has seen a rash of mergers and acquisitions along with the introduction of many new, innovative companies, and there is a renewed emphasis on the creation and implementation of strategic vision that aligns company goals and provides true business value.

The Network is looking for solutions that create measurable business impact. We are eager to hear about your success stories.

Who is eligible to submit?
IT users/implementers, system integrators, consultants, vendors on behalf of customers or their own in-house deployment and PR firms of behalf of clients. One submission allowed per category.

Deadline for submissions
Please download the online submission form. Send the complete form via email to Mary Jo Nott, mnott@b-eye-network.com by July 25, 2008.

Award notification
Awards will be presented to the solution providers and end-user organizations chosen as luminaries in providing real business impact. Winners will be notified by October 15 and featured on www.BeyeNETWORK.com.

Use of submission and confidentiality of information
All information gathered is for the exclusive use of the BeyeNETWORK and the judges. The judges' use will be solely for purposes of this awards program. BeyeNETWORK may profile winners in a special Web feature, using excerpts and information from the winning submissions. The company representative must be available to talk to judges if more information is needed. Winners will be notified via email to the person who submitted the entry.

Categories

    Please enter your submission in the category that best fits your solution.
    We understand there is some overlap between the categories and ask you to decide which is the best fit for your implementation. One submission per category is allowed.

    Business Intelligence
    Organizations realize the value of BI solutions for strategic and tactical decision making. This category includes data warehousing, enterprise reporting and analysis, budgeting/forecasting applications, data visualization and data mining.

    Advanced Business Intelligence and Analytics
    These solutions provide value from the use of operational BI, complex analytics on large data stores or real-time delivery. This category includes text analytics, event processing, embedded BI, data warehouse appliances, dynamic querying systems and predictive analytics.

    Data Integration
    Award winners will have strategically deployed enterprise software to access disparate data and create an infrastructure that allows knowledge workers to easily access data of all types. This category includes legacy migration, application integration, ETL, EII, virtualization, customer data integration, product integration, service-oriented architectures.

    Data Management
    In today's competitive climate an organization must manage information quality and enhance BI applications for better decision making. This category includes data governance, master data management, data quality, data profiling, enterprise portals, content management solutions and knowledge management systems.

    Enterprise 2.0
    Emerging technologies are bringing benefits to BI users. These include software as a service, wikis, taxonomies, mashups, and collaboration and search tools.

    Open Source BI
    Open source software is being adopted for information management, analysis and delivery initiatives. If you have an open source BI solution that is providing business value, we want to hear your story.

    Performance Management
    Measuring your business and managing your BI environment is important in today's competitive market. This category includes strategy, planning and consolidation, dashboards, scorecards, key performance indicators.

Judging Criteria

These awards will be judged by a panel of industry experts from the BeyeNETWORK who will evaluate and rank the entrants in each category on a scale of 1-5 based on the substantiated business impact of the BI solution using the following criteria:

  • Financial return and measurable payback (ROI, assets, resources) through created/protected revenue opportunities or cost savings.
  • Substantive impact (service, retention, acquisition) on internal and/or external customers.
  • Positive impact on business or organization units.
  • Strategic advantage to the business/organization, including the deployment of future BI solution initiatives.
  • The efficient sharing/access to reliable data, information and applications between personnel, departments, divisions, etc.
  • Compliance with government and other corporate regulatory considerations, if applicable.
  • The utilization of cutting-edge and innovative applications, systems and approaches.
