John West
John E. West has been working on his career in technology since
1992. He's worked briefly in telecom and technology integration, but he's spent most of that time in supercomputing. In 2006, he was named to the annual "People to Watch" list by HPCwire, the
leading news publication of the supercomputing industry.
Currently, John is the Director of a top 20 supercomputing center for the Federal Government and is the Acting Deputy Director of an information technology R&D laboratory. John holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and master’s degree in Computational Engineering from Mississippi State University. He's also the author of The Only Trait of a Leader, a field guide to success for new engineers, scientists and technologists.
In his spare time, he posts articles and tips related to the book at The Only Trait of a Leader Web site, and writes feature articles for a variety of technology and IT publications on leadership and career issues.
