Originally published February 16, 2006

Datalink, an independent information storage architect, recently announced the hiring of Ari Kaplan as Senior Consultant responsible for database solutions. Kaplan, President of the Independent Oracle Users Group, has more than 15 years experience working with large Oracle database applications.

“Ari brings a wealth of expertise and is a recognized leader in the Oracle community,” said Charlie Westling, President and CEO, Datalink. “His background will provide Datalink with an immediate opportunity to assist our customers who have substantial Oracle database applications.”

Chartered with helping Datalink expand its Oracle storage practice, Kaplan will work closely with customers to help them optimize the performance of their database and storage environments.

“I am pleased with the opportunity to work with the Datalink team and contribute my knowledge of Oracle to their storage practices,” said Kaplan. “Performance bottlenecks and improperly tuned databases are a growing and costly problem in storage-rich Oracle environments. The understanding and proper implementation of new storage technologies can solve huge problems and save significant time and money when applied to the database world. These are areas where Datalink can really offer their customers value.”
