Hitachi Consulting Acquires Navigator Systems

Originally published February 8, 2006

With continued market momentum, Hitachi Consulting Corporation recently announced the acquisition of business intelligence and corporate performance management market leader, Navigator Systems. With this acquisition, Hitachi Consulting, the business and IT consulting company of Hitachi, continues its aggressive pursuit of the business intelligence and corporate performance management market. Hitachi will continue to emphasize this important market through additional acquisitions and aggressive, organic growth.

Navigator Systems has worked closely with industry-leading clients like Builders FirstSource, Compass Bank, GameStop, Neiman Marcus Group, Sabre Holdings and Southwest Airlines. Founded in 1992 and serving clients across the U.S., Navigator Systems is a recognized leader in BI Competency Center and integrated Corporate Performance Management consulting. The BI Competency Center (BICC) is a holistic approach to building strong business intelligence capabilities that create high-levels of business intelligence productivity, self-sufficiency and strategic applications through-put. “Our BI Competency Center engagements yield tangible, measurable benefits to industry-leading clients and allow them to generate decision-making insights for competitive advantage at an enterprise scale,” said Jon Feld, Co-founder and CEO of Navigator Systems.

Corporate Performance Management is the collection of business processes and supporting systems that provide integrated management rhythms and actionable information to decision makers. “CPM, which enables the continuous planning, measurement and execution of business strategy, is a strategic part of our solutions portfolio,” said Carr Krueger, managing vice president for Hitachi Consulting’s business intelligence and corporate performance management national practice. “The addition of Navigator Systems to our company’s consulting capabilities adds not only critical bandwidth to our current CPM skills, but more importantly brings the strengths of Navigator’s acknowledged, market-leading solutions to our current client base.”  Preparing for continued growth, Hitachi Consulting is expanding its capabilities in an area which most industry analysts expect will outpace other consulting and systems integration markets, growing at near double-digit rates over the next few years.

“In today’s economy, the need to improve performance for our clients is unwavering. It comes from needs of shareholders, directors, executives and field operators alike—all wanting more insight, wanting it more accurate, wanting it more tailored to their specific role,” said Todd Price, Co-founder and COO of Navigator Systems.
