ISVs and Solutions Supports Oracle OLAP

Originally published November 22, 2005

Oracle recently announced that Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and solution providers continue to show strong support for Oracle OLAP.  AITG, arcplan, SolStonePlus and Vlamis, all members of the Oracle PartnerNetwork, are taking advantage of the embedded OLAP capabilities in Oracle Database 10g to quickly and easily deliver powerful, enterprise-class analytic solutions to help customers understand which factors are driving their business.

Online analytical processing (OLAP) is used to support advanced applications including demand planning and forecasting, product and customer profitability, sales and marketing analysis, and risk management to provide customers with better insight into business operations and markets.  Oracle OLAP, an option to Oracle Database Enterprise Edition, is fully integrated into the database, enabling customers to reap benefits of an industrial-strength calculation engine, faster query performance, and superior availability, scalability, and security.  Because Oracle Database 10g integrates both OLAP and relational data, business users can benefit from access to a broader range of information faster, while information technology (IT) departments can benefit from reduced IT cost and simplified management.

"Our partners are very excited about the integrated, industrial-strength OLAP capabilities in the Oracle Database," said Ray Roccaforte, Vice President of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing at Oracle. "By exploiting the embedded OLAP capabilities in the Oracle Database engine, our partners are able to quickly and easily build scalable analytic solutions that enable their customers to gain better insight into business operations, to make smarter decisions—faster. "
Companies across all industries and regions continue to implement OLAP software as part of their larger business intelligence strategies, fueling market growth and building new opportunities for ISVs.
