Originally published November 15, 2005

Computer Sciences Corp. recently announced that it has won a contract to provide portfolio management and information technology investment management services for the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) in its role as distribution process owner for the Department of Defense (DoD). The contract, which has one base year and four one-year options, is valued at approximately $51 million if all options are exercised.

Under the agreement, CSC will develop plans, processes, tools and analyses for DoD transportation—and distribution-related IT systems to help the USTRANSCOM and the DoD optimize their technological investments.

"CSC will leverage its expertise to support the USTRANSCOM's goal of implementing mission-capable, cost-effective and sustainable systems to meet requirements for years to come," said Austin Yerks, President of CSC's Defense Integrated Solutions & Services organization. "This contract illustrates the DoD's confidence in CSC's experience and ability to achieve significant program results for this mission."
