Business Objects Unveils Retail Solution

Business Objects, a provider of business intelligence, has launched a new budgeting and planning solution for the retail industry, reports cxotoday.com. Called Business Objects Planning for Retail, the solution is aimed at helping retailers model and optimize performance, and promoting intra-departmental collaboration within the organization.

Building on existing analytic solutions for the retail industry, the new solution offers customers a set of capabilities that enable retailers in several functional roles, including finance, merchandising, supply chain, and store operations to improve operational and financial performance. 

The solution consists of four new applications for more precise budgeting, forecasting, plan reporting, and payroll planning. It enables retailers to conduct comparable store forecasting, sales calendarization, operational expense management, and multi-channel sales management.

In addition, Business Objects Planning for Retail allows individual business units to develop and refine financial models based on their unique drivers and processes.
Besides the new solution, Business Objects provides pre-configured analytic solutions for retailers to identify the optimal store assortment, profile their customers, and manage vendor performance.
