Ascentn Supports AgilePoint BPMS Suite

Originally published November 8, 2005

Ascentn, a provider of .NET Framework-based Business Process Management System  solutions, recently announced its plan to support Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, SQL Server 2005 and BizTalk Server 2006 in its AgilePoint BPMS Suite.

The AgilePoint BPMS Suite was built to deliver a unique, standards-based BPM architecture that is 5 to 10 times more cost effective than Java/Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition-based BPMS suites. BPMS helps to transform businesses into process-managed enterprises, enabling greater business agility through process-enabled on-demand automation, adaptable integration, business and IT alignment, and information worker empowerment. AgilePoint already includes and enhances Visual Studio .NET 2003 as its BPM development environment and SQL Server 2000 as its process data store and business intelligence engine.

Through integration, AgilePoint customers also use BizTalk Server to manage their backbone IT infrastructure integration and orchestration needs. Through foundational interoperability and compatibility, AgilePoint users can quickly take advantage of the new functionality provided by .NET Framework 2.0, Visual Studio 2005, SQL Server 2005 and BizTalk Server 2006 to deliver heightened BPM values with increased development productivity, faster integration and the ability to gain broader and deeper insight into business performance.

Ascentn views support for Visual Studio 2005, SQL Server 2005 and BizTalk Server 2006 as a strategic and integral part of its BPMS offering and will offer compatibility in a forthcoming release of the AgilePoint Suite, scheduled for late Q4 2005. Over the coming months, Ascentn will be looking into an even deeper, architectural-level integration of Ascentn's AgilePoint Suite with .NET Framework 2.0, Visual Studio 2005, SQL Server 2005 and BizTalk Server 2006. This further integration will allow Ascentn to attract more enterprises to adopt its .NET-based BPMS as their next-generation process foundation, effectively expanding and solidifying Microsoft's success in the enterprise space.
