Jinfonet Software, world leader in Java reporting solutions, recently announced that the National Student Clearinghouse has selected JReport for its new national high school research and reporting system. The Clearinghouse, a non-profit organization, provides educational reporting, verification and research services to more than 3,300 colleges and universities and more than 2,500 high schools. JReport will be used to enable end-users, from high school principals to parents, to easily generate reports that can be used to assess and improve educational performance across the country.

The new Clearinghouse system, an expansion of its existing StudentTracker system, addresses the urgent need for a standardized way to measure educational outcomes. Users will be able to track and deliver key educational outcome statistics for students in grades K-12. The application supplies user-friendly reports across multiple tiers: parents, teachers, district, state, and national.  StudentTracker will enable policy makers, educators, and parents to gauge student success on both a micro and macro scale.  JReport allows StudentTracker to provide a clear view of education success factors, leveraging quantities of data into meaningful material.

JReport supplied the Clearinghouse with a flexible, easily implemented reporting solution to make monitoring StudentTracker’s complex components simple enough for even the least technical user.  “JReport's rich design capabilities and ability to be easily integrated into other applications really made it an easy choice,” said Tony Romano, the director of Application Development at the Clearinghouse. A pilot is now underway in three states. Eventually, the system will be rolled out nationwide.

"We felt comfortable partnering with Jinfonet for this project,” Romano said.  “The staff was focused on matching tools to our requirements.  They listened to our needs, and were so knowledgeable across the board – really presenting as a unified team, and unified product.”
