HiT Software Inc., a leading provider of data integration, replication and transformation products, recently announced that it has certified DBMoto, its Change Data Capture and Data Replication solution, for interoperability with Netezza’s family of data warehouse and analytic appliances. DBMoto has been proven to quickly and successfully load and update data from various databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2, to Netezza appliances.

Testing for interoperability between DBMoto and Netezza included:

  • Scalability to meet large data set loading and intra-day update requirements
  • Performance on snapshot (or refresh) operations utilizing Netezza’s data loader (bulk transfer)
  • Delta detection/Change Data Capture (CDC) with Netezza as a target, significantly improving performance above that of single item update solutions
“In the short amount of time it’s taken for HiT Software to prepare and test DBMoto for interoperability with our appliances, we’ve been impressed by the technology and the expertise of HiT’s team,” said Matthew Rollender, Director of Technology Alliances at Netezza. “We believe DBMoto’s data integration solution for Netezza provides a scalable and effective methodology to load and update large data sets from various enterprise databases into our system, and will provide a significant time and cost benefit to our users.”

DBMoto is designed to run on any Windows system, and isolates the data handling from the systems involved. DBMoto requires a minimal footprint on source databases, eliminating impact to source systems. Using transactional log-reading on source databases and specialized algorithms, DBMoto provides high-performance, large data loading to Netezza for both initial snapshots and CDC updates. This methodology assures users of the best performance for fresh data, and reliable data integrity in their Netezza data warehouses.

“We are excited to add the Netezza appliances to our existing range of supported databases and data warehouses,” said Giacomo Lorenzin, CEO, HiT Software, Inc. “DBMoto is a critical data integration component for Netezza customers who want to exchange data between their corporate databases and the Netezza TwinFin appliances. HiT Software has worked closely with Netezza to integrate and test DBMoto both at the Netezza labs and at user sites.”

DBMoto supports all major relational databases for change data capture, enabling real-time data access for business users, analysts, operational staff and statisticians. DBMoto is recognized for its maturity, reliability, flexibility and affordability. Completely wizard-driven, DBMoto is easy to configure and quick to deploy without consulting, and is in use today at thousands of small to large organizations.
