Aditya Birla Financial Services Group (ABFSG), one of the top financial services companies in India and a member of the prominent Aditya Birla Group, has selected the Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance from Teradata Corporation to fuel its business intelligence (BI) and customer relationship management (CRM) initiative. Teradata is the world’s largest company solely focused on data warehousing and enterprise analytics.
The BI and CRM initiative will provide valuable insights for all sales, marketing and customer service-related business units within the Financial Services Group – Birla Sun Life Insurance Company, Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company and Birla Sun Life Distribution Company.
ABFSG selected Teradata for the Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance with its ability to start small and grow according to its future requirements. The goal for this new initiative is to gain a better understanding of customers across the financial services businesses in order to provide better, relevant and timely service to its customer base.
“We were looking for a technology vendor with proven expertise, an understanding of our business and one that can meet our growing demands. Teradata has proven to be the best fit,” said Mr. G. V. Gopalakrishnan, chief operations officer, Financial Services, Aditya Birla Group.
According to Ashok Ekbote, country manager of Teradata India, “Aditya Birla Financial Services is our first major customer in India to select the Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance. We are very excited to provide our expertise to this financial services leader. Teradata is committed to the India market and we offer a wide range of products and services designed to meet varied business requirements.”
By selecting Teradata, ABFSG is expected to gain efficiencies in productivity and deployment. ABFSG customers, in return, will receive improved, relevant and timely services from the company.
