The service offers practical content plus mentoring and related developmental assignments to create a high quality educational experience. All programs are offered on-demand and at a price that is personally affordable to allow motivated professionals to truly take charge of their own careers.

Building Better Leaders programs consist of a series of lessons targeted to take place over 45-60 days. Each program includes rich content covering a particular topic in detail over the course of several chapters. Each chapter includes an Action Guide that program participants download, a brief multimedia presentation that introduces critical themes and provides actionable detail, and provides participants with developmental activities to bring the content to life.

In addition to the course content, the programs include one to two hours of teleconferencing sessions with a Building Better Leaders Executive Mentor, and unlimited email access to program leaders. In addition, alumni of Building Better Leaders programs will receive exclusive alumni content, ongoing access to course materials, and will receive discounts for new course offerings.

“The goal is to provide broad access to real-world career development content and activities that participants can apply to their current roles or the future opportunities they are seeking,” Petty notes.

The new service’s initial offerings focus on establishing exploring and implementing leadership fundamentals for those considering a formal role in leadership and those newly promoted to their first leadership role. Programs under development and expected to deliver by early 2010 will focus on delivering leadership, marketing and professional development support for specific audiences, including: small business owners, technical professionals, marketing and event managers, project managers and product managers.
