Lyzasoft Announces Availability of a New White Paper from Data Warehousing Pioneer Dr. Barry Devlin

Originally published July 9, 2009

Lyzasoft, Inc., a provider of desktop data analysis solutions, recently announced the availability of a new white paper from data warehousing pioneer Dr. Barry Devlin entitled Collaborative Analytics: Sharing and Harvesting Analytic Insights Across the Business.
In the white paper, Dr. Devlin introduces the concept of the adaptive information cycle, a model that links the center–out approach of traditional data warehousing to the emergent prototyping that characterizes today’s analytic environments.  The goal, according to Dr. Devlin, is to close the division between business analysts, who often work outside the data warehousing environment to achieve their objectives, and corporate IT, which works diligently to provide a quality assured, comprehensive and integrated warehouse of information as the basis for corporate reporting and planning.
“The problem is, this valuable data warehouse resource often lies ignored or distrusted by pioneering business analysts,” Dr. Devlin said. “Today’s business cannot afford this disconnect. By combining concepts from integrated development environments, social networking and collaborative working, the adaptive information cycle reunites business intelligence and business analytics,” Dr. Devlin said. “Lyzasoft’s Lyza shows some of the real functionality needed to allow business analysts to collaborate more closely and to enable IT to harvest the fruits of their innovation for the wider user community.”
