iStrategy Solutions (iStrategy), a provider in data warehousing and analytic application software for higher education institutions, recently announced that the University System of Georgia (USG) has chosen the iStrategy HigherEd Analytics Suite for statewide deployment. Selected in a competitive bid process, the HigherEd Analytics Suite will provide financial data warehousing and business intelligence at 32 of USG's colleges and universities.
The iStrategy HigherEd Analytics Suite is a packaged data warehouse and analytic reporting application designed expressly for higher education institutions. Because it is pre-built specifically for the top three ERP systems most frequently used by higher education – PeopleSoft, Banner and Datatel – the iStrategy HigherEd Analytics Suite is installed in days and can be deployed in weeks, as opposed to a year or more required by alternative solutions, and for dramatically less cost.
The University System of Georgia is one of the largest higher education entities in the United States, with an annual operating budget of more than $6 billion. The USG will use the iStrategy HigherEd Analytics Suite to transform masses of PeopleSoft-based financial data pertaining to its 32 colleges and universities receiving state funding into a consolidated data warehouse. The iStrategy data warehouse will enable anyone in the organization, including the Board of Regents, the governing body of the USG, to work interactively with budget and finance data, including online dashboards, and perform multidimensional financial data analysis, at any time, on a self-service basis.

"This is an important step in strengthening financial accountability and transparency for the University System of Georgia," said Usha Ramachandran, Chief Financial Officer for the USG. "Our long term strategic goals have called for the establishment of a statewide business intelligence system to enable anyone in the organization with budgetary responsibility to view and manage budget performance on their own, without help from the finance or IT departments. We are now in a position to achieve this critical goal."
