Sybase’s Enterprise Data Warehouse Solution is Recognized by Forrester and IDC

Originally published April 9, 2009

Sybase’s Enterprise Data Warehouse solution has been recognized as comprehensive and powerful by respected IT analyst firms Forrester and IDC, thanks to its unique columnar database structure. With front–end OLAP acceleration and real-time business intelligence via an analytics–optimised database, the Sybase solution is delivering “a single version of the truth that provides enormous benefits,” according to IDC.

The March 2009 release of Sybase IQ 15 has caused a stir in the market, as it offers quick loading and retrieval of data as a full analytics database with mixed workload ability, meaning it can scale up both the amount of data contained in the product and the number of users and range of queries that it can handle.

In the February 2009 IDC Link report, Analyst Alys Woodward noted that “flexibility to handle a range of queries has always been the key challenge for any datawarehousing or BI project, and will continue to be a driver of success for Sybase.” Meanwhile, James Kobelius at Forrester positioned Sybase as a Strong Performer in the first ever Forrester Wave for Enterprise Data Warehousing Platforms in the first quarter of 2009.
