Public Petroleum Data Model (PPDM)
Bringing world-wide industry experts together in a round table approach to engineer a business driven data model, the Public Petroleum Data Model Association ensures that the model will meet today and tomorrow's needs. With existing computing infrastructure and data, this model becomes the foundation positioning companies to move aggressively towards the future, embracing new technologies and business strategies. Formed in 1989 and incorporated in 1991 as a not-for-profit association, its membership of 100+ organizations - Canadian, International and US, include a broad range of petroleum companies, government agencies, software application and data vendors, and service companies.Managed by volunteers, the low membership fee encourages a large number of companies involved in the oil and gas business to participate in the model definition. Working experts in each of the business topics are invited to participate in an open process to create the integrated modules of the standard model. Each member is encouraged to be an active participant in PPDM's evolution and votes on the business acceptability of each model.

Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG)
The Society of Exploration Geophysicists is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the science of geophysics and the education of applied geophysicists. SEG, founded in 1930, fosters the expert and ethical practice of geophysics in the exploration and development of natural resources, in characterizing the near surface, and in mitigating earth hazards. The Society, which has more than 25,000 members in 129 countries, fulfills its mission through its publications, conferences, forums, Websites and educational opportunities.

Society of Petroleum Engineers
SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) is a not-for-profit professional association whose members are engaged in energy resources development and production. SPE serves 69,000-plus members in 112 countries worldwide. SPE is a key resource for technical knowledge related to the oil and gas exploration and production industry and provides services through its publications, conferences,workshops, forums, and website.
