Dear Information Professional,

Welcome to the latest edition of the Information Quality Newsletter, brought to you by the Business Intelligence Network! This newsletter delivers educational information and practical articles on the impact of information quality with business intelligence.

My article, The Economics of Information Quality, explains that the real value proposition for information quality is when we prevent the creation of defective information that causes processes to fail. I use an order fulfillment process example to illustrate the economics of process improvement. This illustrates the costs of ownership of poor quality information compared with the cost of process improvement to eliminate IQ problems.

In the second article, E-Government and Information Quality, Daragh O Brien explains why any e-government strategy will necessitate a change in culture to break down the barriers between departments to allow the necessary information to flow across the government "enterprise."

Please continue to use the Business Intelligence Network as your premier source for information quality, business intelligence, performance management and data warehousing.
