Welcome Inmon newsletter subscribers!
In the first article, Corporate Performance Management Exposed, Sanjeev Vohra discusses the importance of planning, budgeting and forecasting effectively. Sanjeev believes that these activities can help senior managers navigate their way through the organization's data assets to identify weaknesses and opportunities for creating an integrated solution.
It can often be confusing when determining the right question to ask. My article, The Right Question to Ask About Analytics, examines the importance of experience, intuition and new ways of thinking. Finding the right question to ask was particularly difficult when I tried to initially justify the costs of the data warehouse.
I encourage you to use the Business Intelligence Network as your premier source for information pertaining to Business Intelligence, Performance Management, Data Warehousing and Information Quality.

A University of Colorado Study on Operational Efficiency of Data Warehouses
As data warehouse technology and deployment matures, efficient operation becomes a priority. This study aims to collect a data set of important variables for data warehouse operations to evaluate operational efficiency. Study participants will receive a free report on the study's findings. An addendum to the report will provide customized results to each participating organization. Organizations can use the study results to determine their relative operational efficiency compared to similar organizations.
All data gathered will be held in the strictest confidence. The survey itself should take just 15 to 20 minutes. However, you may need to devote some additional time to provide rough estimates for some variables in the survey. Participants who complete the survey within one month of this publication date will be eligible for a drawing of a micro hard drive MP3 player.
Take the survey.
