Business Performance
Management (BPM) enables a business to define, measure and manage its
performance against strategic goals. The core financial and
operational processes of BPM include planning, consolidation and
reporting, analysis and the deployment of linked key performance
indicators (KPI's) throughout an organization.
This issue features an
article that I co-authored with Lew Walker titled Business Performance Management and IT
Readiness, which discusses how IT readiness is often
overlooked when beginning a BPM initiative. Additionally, another
article titled Business
Performance Management: Sarbanes-Oxley Considerations is
authored by Reid Karabush, the President of Decision Systems Inc., a
member of the BPM Implementation Alliance.
