This week I've authored an article entitled The Role of Open Source in Enterprise Portals. My objective for this article was to take a quick look at open-source portal products and review the pros and cons of using them. When evaluating open-source solutions there are four main areas to consider: features provided, development effort, product cost and support. Open source has continued to make major inroads in many areas and the enterprise portal market is no exception.

In my article, Data Integration: Record Linkage and Master Data, we will look at a basic precept for multi-data set integration, some of its associated issues, as well as some ideas for optimizing the process.
