A conversation with Keith Marsolo, Ph.D., Research Instructor - Division of Biomedical Informatics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center has selected the i2b2 platform to serve as the underlying architecture for the institution's research data warehouse. This project is intended to merge disparate sources of clinical and research data in an attempt to foster collaboration and further translational research. Dr. Marsolo will
discuss the rationale for choosing i2b2, the challenges faced thus far, as well as application modules that are to be developed in the future.

Topics to be addressed:

• Hurdles faced in acquiring and integrating data sources.
  
  
• The role of i2b2 in the CCHMC CTSA application.
  
  
• How CCHMC plans to adapt i2b2 to fit the needs of a pediatric
  institution.

Aaron Abend, leader of the Recombinant Data i2b2 solutions practice, will also be available to answer technical questions about the i2b2 data repository.
