If you are contemplating, designing, building or maintaining a business intelligence environment, you are (or will be - or should be!) thinking about database design. Database design affects: how long it takes to load the structures, how easily you can (or cannot) maintain the structures, how much duplicate data (and hence data that will have to be archived at some point in the future) you will keep, and how fast your queries will run (or not!).

This channel will devote itself to weeding through the different design theories and practices, discussing the pros and cons of each. I will breakdown design questions (How would you design…?) and offer possible solutions. We will dig into the four questions above and many more.
