I was visiting SAS a few weeks ago and we had to pull over and take a quick picture of the road sign on campus. Makes you wonder if SAS is taking the need for precision data just a little too far.

I work at SAS and have always wondered about that number, too. I think the idea is to make it stand out. There's a hotel a few miles from SAS with a 14 mile an hour speed limit in their parking lot.

That's a great picture, and I just can't resist: SAS always has been just a little slower than everything around them... :-)

BI Questions Blog

The unusual speed limit is certainly meant to draw attention. The choice of 23 is suspected to be an homage to Micheal Jordan.
