Senator John Edwards at Gnomedex

Senator John Edwards is speaking to the group here at Gnomedex today. The great news is he didn’t take credit for the Internet (see Al Gore). Its interesting that when the Senator agreed to speak the national press demanded access to the event. I commend Chris Pirillo for holding the line and keeping this conversation with the Senator just for the group.

The Senator is in favor of Net Neutrality for those of you who have not heard of this topic prior to this post I urge you to look into it. The large telcom companies are pushing for restrictions on Internet bandwidth so they can charge more to some companies to carry content and less to others.

Edwards is doing a great job with this very vocal group. I’d urge you take a look at the feed that’s available online if you would like to see this very engaging and frank discussion.
