Lets not just do stuff

Wise words from Brocade CIO Marti Menacho. It seems its a bit of a mantra for her and the team at Brocade. A six year long client of Informatica's they have recently added an additional solution with the adoption of the PowerCenter Connect for Salesforce.com product. Marti's team is supporting 800 salesforce users and is looking to grow how they use the solution. They recently added their service sales team to the application and see a future use in other departments going forward. I asked Marti what drove the decision to add more from Informatica the answer was consistancy, strong platform and past experience.

When asked about recent buzzwords in the industry comparisons of right time and real time, information on demand and others Marti's response is that at Brocade "we don't just do stuff", we try to avoid that pitfall and focus on the things that drive our company so when these things are brought up we can strategically implement what the company needs instead of getting tied up in projects that we don't.
