Good morning, I am traveling again today. This week it’s the Informatica World show in San Francisco. The conference is off to a great start with a keynote from Chairman and CEO Sohaib Abbasi covering Data Integration for the Enterprise and the Business Web followed by his friend Marc Benioff Chairman and CEO of Salesforce. I’ll cover the contents of the speeches later today.

The biggest news coming from the show is the announcement of PowerCenter Connect for salesforce.com. I got a sneak peak at the new technology strategy last week from Ivan Chong, Vice President of Product Marketing and Ash Kulkarni, On-demand Marketing Manager for Informatica. It continues along the lines that the company was focusing on over a year ago taking into consideration the new ways companies are sharing and leveraging data coupled with the strategy that software as a service is the future of the industry.

Users of the salesforce.com solution will be able to seamlessly utilize an enterprise class data integration solution right from the AppExchange platform at salesforce.com. The environment is completely codeless and aimed at users who are not a typical data integration power user. The functionality includes the ability to migrate, cleanse, replicate and synchronize data between Salesforce and data behind the corporate firewall.
