It's an interesting thought the term was coined some 15 years ago and as Colony said it was probably accurate when the technology team was only responsible for helping make sure the monthly accounting close happened. Doesn't it make sense that with IT playing a huge role in revenue, profit and market share of a company that the term no longer accurately defines the true importance of this group's role? Colony suggests we adopt "BT" for "Business Technology". I think it's a great idea, it seems to be a more accurate title. What are your thoughts?
