Ipedo is getting ready to wrap up its 2nd annual EII survey. The goal of the study is to fill a void in the market with good, detailed information on the current state of the EII market, implementations and best practices. If you participate your entered into a drawing for a free iPod. Also, everyone who takes the survey will receive the compiled results so you can see how your organization compares to other companies.

Tim Matthews of IPedo also hosts a great EII blog at the BeyeBLOGS.com site check it out!

On the heels of todays announcement I thought it would be fun to update my post from earlier this year concerning Google and EPIC. If you haven't watched EPIC yet you really should if you have an interest in Internet business and culture.

While many of the analysts reporting on the Google - AOL deal are focused solely on the advertising aspects I really feel the most interesting part of the agreement is connected to the video library and Instant Messaging products. Google will now have partner level access to the huge archive of video content that AOL presently stores and this content has been largely unavailable for indexing by the search community. Google is about to jump past the meager offerings of all other search firms with regards to video content delivery. Lastly, the agreement to merge the Google Talk and AOL Instant Messenger products will create a interactive community between the two companies the will eclipse all others.

Todays announcement is truly EPIC,

I think the greatest thing about reading blogs is being exposed to different perspectives, passions and resources. Unfortunately, much of what you get from the vendor community qualifies as piffle (fun word alert! Claudia used "piffle" in her blog the other day and I thought it was cool). I've highlighted a couple vendor blogs this year that I feel understand the value and purpose of blogs.

This week I've discovered another.

The folks at DataFlux have it going on! They have teamed with David Loshin (president, Knowledge Integrity, Inc.), Jill Dyche (partner and co-founder, Baseline Consulting), and Robert Lerner (senior analyst, Current Analysis). To bring readers expert driven commentary on Data Profiling, Data Quality, Data Enrichment, Master Data Management, Customer Data Integration . I highly recommend taking a look at the site, or subcribing to the RSS feed.

Congratualtions to Katie, Carmen and Jordan for creating a great resource for our community.
