Blog: Shawn Rogers« Extending the CIF | Main | Oracle is Free! » Informatica launches PowerCenter 8Informatica has rolled out what promises to be their biggest upgrade to PowerCenter. I met with Karen Steele Vice President of Corporate Marketing along with Jason Khoury Public Relations Programs Manager to get the details. The list of new features is pretty long so I'll touch on a couple here and give you a few links to other resources. PowerCenter 8 focuses on universal access to enterprise data and features some great unstructured data features that include industry standards templates such as HIPAA, ASTM and others along with access to PDF, PPT Excel and others. Other upgrades include mission critical deployment features, my favorite is "Pushdown Optimization" this allows you to decide where you want the work to be done by bringing the process to the data or the data to the process a powerful tool that I'm sure many people will enjoy. And lastly, they have added more support for global IT groups with Java transformation support. PowerCenter 8 is available in December 2005. It's an incredibly strong offering. |

Hi! I am a Informatica Learner. I am looking for informatica session, workflow and repository Best Practices Documents.
I don't have access to my.informatica.com. I request the reader to help me with this. Thanks. :)
