Changes in DW Appliance Land

It's been an interesting week in the world of data warehouse appliances and the solutions that power them.

UK based Whitecross and Kognitio have announced a merger. I spoke with the new CEO of Kognitio Roger Llewellyn this morning and found that their new strategy will have a positive impact on the market going forward. They are financially strong and have a solid line up of customers that include GE Financial, British Airways and CNN. This market that already includes Datallegro, Netezza and GreenPlum should get pretty interesting in the coming months.

While at TDWI World Conference this week it was announced that our friend Kim Stanick Vice President of Product Marketing for Datallegro has left the company for a new position with Jill Dyche's company Baseline Consulting. We wish her the very best and look forward to working with her in her new role.

Have a great weekend!
