Is HP Going to Sell its PC Division?

Hewlett Packard CEO Mark Hurd is starting to rock the HP boat and I'm not surprised. In what some analysts saw as a slap at Carly Fiorina he has re-separated the Printer and PC Divisions that Fiorina merged during her last days at the helm.

Having met Mark Hurd several times over the past couple years I would guess that making Fiorina look bad is not even on his radar. I predict that the separation will make it easier for HP to divest themselves of a division that is underperforming and hurting the bottom line of the company. I would imagine we will see HP leave the PC market all together. The low margin highly competitive marketplace has been left behind by many others including IBM

We'll have to wait and see but the separation of the divisions will make it harder to hide the poor performance of the group and I wouldn't expect Hurd to allow that issue to live in the public eye for long.
