Ron Powell

Thanks for visiting my blog. As co-founder of the BeyeNETWORK, acquired by TechTarget in 2010, I am privileged to participate in many industry-related activities as a BeyeNETWORK expert covering business intelligence and analytics. These events provide me with a unique insider perspective into the business intelligence ecosystem, its products and the vendors that provide those products. I'll be sharing that invaluable information with you through this blog, which will also be a reflection my business philosophy. And, just to make this interesting, I'll be sure to include my personal point of view on a wide range of topics and share some of the stories of people I meet in my travels.

I would like to thank everyone for all the kind words and support during the last month and a half. Losing my sister over Thanksgiving and my mother over Christmas was extremely difficult for me. But the compassion shown by so many of you really helped, and I am so grateful. I would like to share with you a poem that my oldest son Justin wrote for his Grandmother to be read at her funeral service. This poem deeply touched us all:

Is where Grandma now calls home,

Receiving those wings,

An angel,

In the afterlife just like she was here on Earth.

Is where Grandma no longer suffers,

In a better place,

There's comfort in that,

Yet, tears are still rolling down my face.

Is where Grandma & Aunt Katherine reunited,

Family is forever,

I hang on to many sweet memories,

Of the two of them.

Is where Grandma keeps an eye on us,

A cherished husband,

3 wonderful children, 8 beautiful grandchildren, & 1 special great grandson,

A legacy to truly be in awe of.

Is where Grandma & I will be together again,

This is not goodbye,

Only see ya later,

Grandma, I love you & will always miss you.

I really appreciate the care and concern you have shown to me and my family, and I'm looking forward to working with all of you in 2011.
