Piracy, Digital Rights Management, and the Profit Motive

According to Ken Fisher, at Arstechnica.com:

[...]digital rights management has little to do with piracy, but [...] is instead a carefully plotted ruse to undercut fair use and then create new revenue streams where there were previously none.

Ken gives (yet another) excellent precis of what digital rights management (DRM) has and doesn't have to do with piracy in Privately, Hollywood admits DRM isn't about piracy.
