Although at the moment only distros from Red Hat (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Novell (Open Enterprise Server and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server) are on the "recommended and validated" list, half a dozen other distributions have been through the rigorous validation process. Ubuntu Linux, which received certification earlier this month, is the latest addition to the list. Ubuntu is an up-and-coming non-commercial and totally free Linux distribution that's been getting a huge amount of attention over the past year or so because it is just so good.
