With the FCC auctions in "full swing" and Google playing an active roll, there is one front for Google vs the established telecoms for bandwidth. With rumors of a Microsoft/Yahoo merger, could there soon be another front for Google on the operating system/services level? Michal Lev-Ram covers some of the early rumors on the Microsoft/Yahoo combination. It is interesting at that Microsoft appears to be offering approximately $45b for access to Yahoo and their "eyeballs".
