Two front wireless war?

Has Google found itself in the middle of a two front war for its wireless plans?

With the FCC auctions in "full swing" and Google playing an active roll, there is one front for Google vs the established telecoms for bandwidth. With rumors of a Microsoft/Yahoo merger, could there soon be another front for Google on the operating system/services level?

Michal Lev-Ram covers some of the early rumors on the Microsoft/Yahoo combination.

It is interesting at that Microsoft appears to be offering approximately $45b for access to Yahoo and their "eyeballs". However, if there is a $10b-12b annual market for mobile advertising sitting out there, it could be "cheap at twice the price".... or..... it could be AOL.... :)
