I am sure that the technical challenges are real. But anyone who has put their cell phone next to their computer speakers or a speaker phone knows that "interference free" is a relative term and I am guessing that the TV broadcasters are looking for reasons not to release that spectrum. NOTE - I never used to think that my cell phone could "negatively impact" the performance of a plane until I realized that my phone causes more havoc than seems reasonable...
