The MicroStrategy 8 platform provides a solid business intelligence (BI) product for analytic and enterprise reporting. The offering provides strong OLAP capabilities with extended access to SAP BW cubes, along with strong administration and security capabilities and solid Microsoft Office integration capabilities. MicroStrategy includes an enterprise reporting component (Report Services) within the core product; however; limitations in data access lower the overall appeal of the production reporting mechanism. Overall, MicroStrategy is a strong performer in both enterprise and analytic reporting with a greater emphasis on analytic reporting.
